Live sawn boards (sometimes referred to as European or French cut) give hardwood floors a unique appearance because all parts of the wood are captured in the cut. Many boards will display cathedral plain and the center of the board contains R/Q characteristics toward the outer edges. Live sawn flooring is typically produced in a “natural” grade which allows for some knots and natural wood characteristics and color variations. Bayou Rustic engineered hardwoods 5/8’ thick with a 4mm wear layer, which can be sanded 2 or 3 times. The backing, a 9-ply Baltic Birch core which is Made in United States with adhesive made in the United States.
